Convention Archive 2005

 

The 2005 Convention was held in Renfrew, the President was Bill Topping.

Unfortunately, Bill Topping was unable to attend Convention due to Marion's illness. John Hillson stepped into the breach to run proceedings.

Guest of Honour, Graham Childs from Bonhams, proposes the health of the Society whilst President elect, Neil Prior, contemplates the pleasures yet to come..

John Parkin showed some 1939 Royal Visit labels............

........... whilst Rob Lunn from Canada showed his Map Stamps.............

........... and Stan Lum explained the complexities of Admiral Covers.

Colin Lewis showed part of his gold medal winning Newfoundland collection.

Away from the displays, Susan So made her mark by winning the Aikens Trophy. She is seen here receiving the award from Maple Leaves Editor, Graham Searle.

At the banquet, Freda Stalker brought some bad news for the Treasurer......

..... the audience had little sympathy but even the Treasurer seemed to take the news with good grace.

John Hillson wishes Neil Prior well for his term of office.
